Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift is a pop/country songwriter and singer for more than 20 years. Her tales about romance and love at first sight has earned her the acclaim of many in the 21st Century. Swift showed an interest in the arts at a very young stage and progressed swiftly through roles in the children's theater until her first performance before a crowd of thousands. She was age 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match and the following year she picked up the guitar and began writing songs. Swift was a singer who took ideas from Shania's music as well as her band the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world of music from the country genre, wrote the songs of her own to convey her feelings of alienation. When she was 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania to move into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to courting country labels near Nashville.
